About Lamorinda
Lamorinda is an area within Contra Costa County, California. The name is a portmanteau from the names of the three cities it is composed of: Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda. Lamorinda sits east of the Berkeley Hills, between the Caldecott Tunnel and Walnut Creek. It is also reffered to as the Highway 24 corridor.
These three towns are desirable places to live - with gorgeous greenery, an excellent public school system, and a cozy suburban feel, they are an excellent choice for families. Lafayette and Orinda have their very own BART stations, making it incredibly easy to commute throughout the larger Bay Area.
In Orinda, you can find the California Shakespeare Theater, a conservatory that operates year round and features programs for children, teenagers, young actors, teachers, and adults, as well as the Orinda Film Festival which occurs annually. All three towns have their own gorgeous libraries, parks, and recreation centers.
